[…] Owner Yoko Takarada and Executive Chef Armando Litiatco of Shokudō, 4740 NE Second Ave. in Miami’s Buena Vista neighborhood, hosted a private dinner Oct. 22 to celebrate the Pan Asian restaurant’s new menu.
The evening began with canapés and signature cocktails. Music was by DJs Grim and Italian radio host Marco Mazzoli of Miami Radio Evolution 93.5 FM. A six-course dinner included Uni Toast, Lemongrass Mussels, Manila Ceviche, Poke Salad, Grilled Octopus, Marinated Koran Ribs and Matcha Pot de Crème.
Shokudō (the name means “Cafeteria” in Japanese) opened in July 2012. A Filipino-American chef from San Francisco, Litiatco formerly cooked at Daniel by Daniel Boulud in New York. Takarada is the daughter of Hiromi “Tony” Takarado, owner of Toni’s Sushi Bar. She previously owned World Resource Café on Lincoln Road.
